Your Imagination tugs at the visual senses leaving it for you to decide and not anyone else. This refined style of soft wire brushing draws attention to the natural grain of White Oak in subtle light stain color combinations. Imagination whispers a personality of its own by presenting a mild display of character with smaller knots, and minor color variation from one board to another.

Our Imagination product line is considered a cerused effect, or in centuries gone by it was referred to liming. The process involves three steps where wire brushing takes place that removes the 'springwood' of White Oak. Next the off white undertones are applied that fills in the deeper brushed areas. A second pass is run where the chosen color is applied. Finally it runs through our UV coating stations and becomes the finished product.

Imagination also offers a popular random plank option. I’ll let you choose the combination you want. Our 4,5 and 6 ¼ inch plank sample photo is just an example. Some may feel at home with a 3,5, and 7 ¼ inch combination, while others may look at a two plank orientation of six and seven and one quarter inch widths as making their own statement.

Another option is rift and quartered (R+Q). This appearance is achieved when the raw logs are milled into planks. The sawing machine simply cuts the log in a different angle that brings to life a ray and ray fleck appearance, or more aptly described as tiger striping. Rift and quartered does more than whisper, it pronounces a modern and distinct identity.
