Muskoka Hardwood Floors
Muskoka does not have the national recognition other manufacturers have that are listed on our site, but one thing is clear that I've heard through installers; high quality. No mass production and paying attention to numbers only, the company offers one of the finest lines of solid prefinished hardwoods I know of.
Popular in the upper Midwest USA and Ontario, Muskoka now offers a 3/4 inch engineered product line they prefer to call solid sawn. It's not your standard engineered constructed product consisting of multiple cross layers. Instead spruce (fast growing eco friendly wood) is used as the primary core with a top veneer thickness of about 3/16 of an inch (4 mm). The veneer measures about 1/16 inch less than a traditional solid product, making it close very close in so far as expected longevity when multiple sandings are considered. Overall lengths (to 84 inches) are far better than other Candian manufacturers reviewed on the site.
Higher Quality Engineered - Ideal For Wide Plank
The solid sawn product is ideal for those seeking wider width hardwoods as potential cupping problems are limited due to the method of manufacturing. The company offers a number of five and seven inch wide hardwoods in this product line that includes Rift and Quarter sawn.
Overall appearances are quite good with a micron beveled appearance on their prefinished solid products. Most of the larger manufacturers produce larger bevels to offset milling variances. These variances are common but the micron bevel offers more proof and confidence in their product precision and quality.
Product Lines- Mostly solid, some engineered.
